The Crosswalk Countdown

Now in my tiny little metro area of Portland, Maine we have seen an increase in these crosswalk countdown lights. The ones that tell you to walk and how many seconds until that car revving it's engine will be trying to clip the last person who thought three seconds was enough to cross four lanes of road. Well as I drove through one of the many I drive through on the way home I realized that the countdown is great for people walking but even better if you are in the part of the intersection that is still on the green light. The countdown shows you how many seconds left until the green goes yellow. Plus if you add 2 seconds to the countdown you'll then be able to go thorugh if the light is yellow.
