With all this steroid talk in baseball, I find it funny that the issue is actually in front of the world now. There have been rumblings of dirty players going way back to the 1980's. It's brought up then the topic disappears as soon as it's mentioned. Let's face it. If the new "designer" drugs that are not on some list of banned substances by a league then the players will use it. Every advantage helps. In one poll about a month ago people were asked if they wanted to use steroids if they knew it would help their chances of making the major leagues. Over eighty percent said yes. So it's not just the players. Or a lighter ball. Or a higher mound.

And now MLB decides to issues a hush rule on talking to the media about steroids. Players don't want to talk about it anyway because they know that over half of the players are on the juice. Now Congress gets involved and Senator John McCain is calling on the league to do something or face litigation. And the funny thing about the whole thing is MLB owners (run by Mr. Tie All Star Game himself, Bud Selig) want the testing part of the player agreement to be rewritten. Yet the Players Union won't accept the challenge. Note to players: It'll be only a few more months until a home run highlight is followed by chants of " Roids ".....
