The Crosswalk Countdown

Now in my tiny little metro area of Portland, Maine we have seen an increase in these crosswalk countdown lights. The ones that tell you to walk and how many seconds until that car revving it's engine will be trying to clip the last person who thought three seconds was enough to cross four lanes of road. Well as I drove through one of the many I drive through on the way home I realized that the countdown is great for people walking but even better if you are in the part of the intersection that is still on the green light. The countdown shows you how many seconds left until the green goes yellow. Plus if you add 2 seconds to the countdown you'll then be able to go thorugh if the light is yellow. So it definitely helps those who walk along with those who drive. My blog...saving you five seconds a day in your driving time....

The Problem with Cocktails

See the problem with cocktails is two fold. Maybe three fold. First of all some of them go down to easy. Secondly, there is no early warning system for the amount of ass kicking those previous cocktails will have. One minute things are fine in your world. The next second things are a bit blurry. Words become more diffficult to pronounce. Dancing becomes oddly inherent to the experience. Kissing someone on the dancefloor that you don't really know happens. Judegement flies out the window as if there were no judgment calls to make. Sometimes it may be best to just drink some beer and some water or nothing at all. Saves you from impending embarrasment of falling down, puking on someone, or solo stumbling home. And from waking up the next day not with the mandatory hangover but with regret about how far gone you took it last night. How if one less drink were taken then how much different the night would have possibly ended up.
