Sports Page Notes

I love going to the sports pages on the net. One most are free. Two I don't have to buy a paper. Three, I love that the NHL is back and they now actually have updates on hockey. Specifically my Boston Bruins. Okay so Jeremy Jacobs owns them. Not me. But the thought is still there. Now Boston hockey writers can get into the contracts and trade possibilities that make all Boston sports figures crazy to read. (I personally hope they keep Joe Thornton and Sergei Samsonov....)

Yarmouth Clam Festival Notes

A few notes on the Clam Festival in Yarmouth, Maine this past weekend...

Rides were great but the lines long. And it now costs more to go on a few rides with your loved one than it does to go to a Sea Dogs game. Wierd...

When is Yarmouth going to learn to close all the roads around the Festival. I know people need to get to and from their houses but c'mon. The off ramp from Route 1 to Main Street was open to traffic thus causing children running from the crafts/food section to dodge traffic to get to the fun rides. Also a driver collided head on into a group of cyclists that caused some serious injuries. That may be the driver's fault for not realizing that barriers are put up to make sure you don't go onto the race path....

If you go with your lady to a carnival I believe it is mandatory to win her at least one plush animal. And make sure you choose the easiest game so you don't look like a complete moron.

Lastly, when choosing rides. Make sure you're own love of extreme sports and speed doesn't interfere with her need to be on the ground and going slower.... Barf bags may be necessary.

Spreading the Presidential Love

When you see a former President of the United States. It's always good to, one, not geet in the way of the secret service. (They are a bit pissy at times....) Two, realize that they were running our country for a number of years and would like some peace and quiet. Three, every President needs a hug. (Rebecca above with former President Bush at Hadlock Field during the All Star game.)
